Integrity

The dictionary defines integrity as adherence to moral & ethical principles; soundness of moral character; honesty. While growing up, my family continually reminded me to always guard my integrity & I have to this day.

My industry is governed by many different laws & regulations, which are constantly amended or added. Knowledge of & adherence to those laws & regulations are part of my integrity. My memberships in the Society of Independent Professional Earth Scientists (SIPES) & the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) both required sponsorship, certification, & affirmation of my professional experience, competence, & ethics before I was accepted. An additional requirement of my SIPES membership was 12 years or more of being self-employed. In a small industry, such as mine, integrity is vital to doing & keeping business.

For me, if a person doesn’t have integrity, they have nothing. Every person who has known me over the years, either professionally or personally, has witnessed my integrity because I do not ever compromise my principles. Truthfulness is highly valued, & I have zero tolerance for lies, half-truths, or omission of known facts in business or personal dealings.
